Aloha! I arrived safely onto the island of Oahu after a long 12 hr+ travel day. I like to use Google Flights for the best deals when it comes to travel and I ended up finding a flight to Hawaii for less than $550. From the East coast to the Hawaiian Islands, that’s a steal!
However, the airline I ended up flying was United and because I have one of the cheaper seats, you don’t get to choose your seat nor have a carry-on bag, so I ended up checking a bag in (which is $30 each way). I flew from FLL > SFO > HNL and the first leg of the flight was unbearable & I was seated right near the bathrooms. Talk about smelly 6 hrs of people using the bathroom, getting booty bumped and booty rubbed constantly the entire flight.
However, I made it to SFO and head straight to the American Express Centurion Lounge due to my Platinum Card that I was convinced to enroll in thanks to a good friend of mine. (I’m very happy because the benefits are FANTASTIC, especially when you’re traveling). I had a pleasant and relaxing time before my next flight to Honolulu; Food & drinks, all complimentary, and it was SO good.
The flight over to Honolulu was much better than the last. I still sat in the aisle seat, but there was less bumping and smelly people to deal with. Most of the time, I’m able to sleep on these flights, but I think because of the space available that United have on their planes, it was pretty tough. I’m hoping my flight back won’t be as bad (I may try to request a window seat if they’re willing and nice to give it to me).
When I finally landed, I was ready to hop off that plane LOL. I had a cup of coffee an hour before the plane landed and I was jittery and antsy the entire time. I needed to use this new added energy and put it to good use! I was greeted by my sister at baggage claim, receiving my first real flower Lei (a tradition that typically happens to great visitors to the Hawaiian Islands).
Since I arrived in the afternoon, traffic in and around Oahu was already starting. My sister wanted to take me to North Shore to watch the sunset and it took us about an hour and some change to get there. We made it just in time to see the sun go down and it was super beautiful! So blessed for this opportunity to travel here and spend it with my sister. Sit tight and see what else we did on my trip here on my next post! 🙂
