When it comes to styling, accessorizing your hat with your outfit can either make or break a look. I don’t usually wear a lot of hats, but when I do, I make sure that it’s a piece that works with many different outfits. What’s so smooth about this hat I’m wearing is that it adds a sense of mystery, masculinity and personality to a simple outfit.

After shooting this look, I went to do some errands around town and I remember getting a lot of stares…mostly good ones but you can tell that they were intrigued to know who “this guy” was. You can basically tell that I don’t fit into the world Fort Lauderdale “fashion”. Many people are dressed in just a t-shirt and jeans. Without the hat I’m just a regular guy, but with the hat, BAM!, all eyes on me.

I can’t help but remember a photo I found when I was back home in September 2017 of my father that is quite similar to these photosets. He and his friends did a 1920’s gangster shoot, looking so fresh with his suspenders and hat (similar to what I’m wearing). The photo was in Sepia and my dad was holding a cigarette in his hand looking off to the side intensely. And here I am. Paying homage to the same photo that my dad took. Like father like son? Most definitely!

What I’m wearing: Zara black felt hat (similar), ASOS white t-shirt, Zara black trousers (similar), Zara white sneakers (similar)
