When I dyed my hair a couple months back, I knew my hair would be extremely damaged. Without any product in my hair, my hair would be super dry and SO frizzy. Even if I deep conditioned my hair it would still be an embarrassment to step outside the house without a good gel to keep my hair tamed.

I went to Sephora a couple of weeks back with a co-worker and I noticed a product they were featuring at the front door. I don’t know what it was that made me stop to take a look, but it was the Olaplex Bond Smoother No. 6. The sales woman came by to tell me a few facts about the product (which I will get to in a sec) and it honestly intrigued me.

I know most products don’t really work with most hair types aka People of Color, so I made sure to do some research (Youtube) to see if there was any reviews from people who have a thicker texture to their hair. From what I watched, there were some pretty good reviews from POC. So, I went ahead and bought the product to try it out and it turns out that I’m completely obsessed with it now. Here are 5 Reasons You’ll Fall in Love with Olaplex Bond Smoother No. 6:

1. Vegan

The first thing that intrigued me about the Olaplex brand is that it is Vegan. What makes a product Vegan? I asked the same question! According to ShampooTree.com, vegan products do not exploit or use animals. That means it’s all natural and completely organic!

2. Cruelty Free

I’ve been seeing a lot of brands now who are working towards being cruelty free and I’m all here for it! Although being cruelty free and vegan coincide with each other, they’re definitely not the same. If you see cruelty free, it means they do not experiment or test product on animals. That’s what we like to hear!

3. Eliminates Frizz, Hydrates, & Protects

I was a bit skeptical when I heard that Olaplex had the ability to eliminate frizz while hydrating and protecting my hair. I mean, I dyed it and re-dyed it so I was kind of on the fence on whether it would work.

I’ve been using the leave in conditioner in my hair for almost three weeks now and I can tell you that not only has it minimized the amount of frizz in my hair, but it also makes my hair soft and it feels healthy. I’ve also noticed some shine when I’m in good lighting too.

I live in South Florida and the humidity literally kills my hair already, so to have a product that does what it says it’s supposed to, it’s a win in my book!

4. Beautiful Scent

I am a sucker for scents! And I know most people can be allergic to fragrance (in which, I’m so sorry for your nose). However, the scent smells SO good! This was one of the selling points for me as I not only want my hair to look healthy and less frizzy, but I want it to smell good too!

On their website, the key ingredients are coconut, Vitamin E, and a secret ingredient only insiders know about.

5. Reasonably Priced

Olaplex Bond Smoother No. 6 retails for $28 and honestly, I think that’s pretty good, for me. I have short hair, which is more manageable that those who have longer hair. Since I’ve only had the bottle for three weeks, I have a little more than half a bottle left so I’m assuming that I will have this product for another month before I need to go and restock.

The product is also very concentrated so a little does go a long way. Use sparingly!

I hope that by the end of this you will want to go out and try it yourself. This was not sponsored or an ad of any sorts. I really just had to share this awesome product I’m using in hopes that maybe you’ll come back to me and say, “Damn Kenjay, you were right! This really helped my hair a ton!”

Let me know how you all love the product. I want to hear you thoughts. Sound off in the comments!
