I’ve never been to San Diego before so I was super excited for the trip there. I typically don’t travel as much for leisure so this was everything I needed and more. There’s something about California that screams beauty. I mean you have the oceans, the mountains, and the deserts. You cannot beat that if you’re a huge nature lover.
My sister and I flew in on a Monday afternoon and we were able to check out Balboa Park before the sun went down. We had a ton a fun looking at the architecture of the buildings and exploring the Botanical Gardens. It was a start of one successful trip!
Seeing the vineyards first hand was breathtaking. I spent the entire tour just mesmerized by the rolling hills of grape vines painted with its burnt yellow and green grape leaves. Have you ever had a moment where you asked yourself, “Is this really happening?” Yeah. I had many moments like that on the tour.
Later that evening, we wanted to see the sunset and drove over to the Sunset Cliffs Reserve. We explored a bit around the cliffs and managed to take some gorgeous photos before the sun went down. I swear, the views were so breathtaking that I had to close my eyes to take it all in. You don’t get this kind of view in Florida.
First, we surprised my Grandmother at dinner as my Great Grandmother wasn’t in the mood to be at a restaurant. As we walked into the Courtyard Marriott in Long Beach, my Grandmother & Auntie were waiting for our arrival. My Grandmother was shook! She had an idea that maybe my Dad & Mom would be coming, but not my sister and I.
We enjoyed a great buffet style dinner and caught up on life. After dinner, we headed over to our Great Grandmothers home and spent some time with her. Can you believe she will be 96 this year? She is still rocking it and she holding on and living her best life. I hope that I’m just as healthy and strong by the time I reach her age.
